They spend a few million from their marketing budget buying dogshit art and make billions on the other end through their platform investments. They pick mediocre artists like this because it lowers the bar enough for most artists to think they have a chance too. And he/him is woke as can be which appeals to the left that are most skeptical on NFTs. This is the game being played. 99% of artists will waste hundreds dollars on eth minting their first nfts and they'll sit there with no bids. Doesn't matter because the VCs have gotten what they've wanted from them. Like people who fall for MLM schemes and end up sitting with hundreds of dollars of protein shakes in their garage that they can't sell. And even if they do make money, they'll just spend that money on other NFTs anyways and they never cash out their casino chips.
