We are failing to communicate what NFTs actually are

I am growing increasingly frustrated with criticisms of NFTs because they seem to have no basis in reality and history. The main complaint is that when you purchase an NFT, you are really purchasing the receipt, and not the actual content. The thing that I think many people do not realize, is that this is how literally all digital content distribution has worked since the creation of the internet.

Let's use video games for example. When you buy a game, you are paying for the license and not the actual game? It is the same as NFTs except with legacy marketplaces, you have to trust that Steam, for example, will continue to retain the rights and capability to distribute the game.

Universally, across all digital market places, you are only buying the receipt. This is not unique to NFTs.

The innovation that NFTs bring is decentralizing the marketplace through which you you can purchase and resell content. Ideally it would be linked to some form of decentralized, uncensorable storage. This way we wont have abandonware or games getting removed over licensing issues. When you buy it, it's yours forever, and easily sellable/transferable. You don't need an account, just a crypto wallet to verify.

The resistance to NFT tech is fits perfectly within the anti-intellectual era we are living in, but this time it's from "the left".

Gaming PCs that are playing video games almost certainly use more energy than NFT minting. Digital markets also almost certainly use more energy.

At this point I feel like the NFT resistance is a luminous as the fucking sun. It's very obviously a bad-faith psyop.

Fellow Bizraelites, what are we to do in the face of this chronic mental retardation? How can we resurrect the glory of decentralized content distribution? Lets brainstorm on rebranding NFTs.

Your idea is fine, but would Steam and other distribution platforms even want that?

As it is, most NFT games are shit that offer nothing to make them stand out besides the possibility of making money, but your idea is something separate and has potential. I'm just not sure companies would go for it. Would be great to preserve games that way though.

I only buy content that I can download and use freely. Video games, music, books. Streaming services and pay-to-access models are retarded.

With the right-to-repair movement becoming increasingly powerful along with the increasing sophistication of cyber security threats, this will only become more important to realize.

It's a wash trading to suck in total retards, those who are in on it - get profits, those who are not - lose
PRO TIP: I have a friend making business out of it since late July, he's an insider

No. It is antithetical to their business model. I am describing a world where studios are free to distribute thier content independently. Developers can make applications that browse various NFT feeds and users will be able to filter it at will. It will be the digital marketplace for everything, direct from studios and artists. No middle man, as it should be. Everything will be cheaper without gatekeepers.

When you buy land you're actually buying a receipt, not the actual land. You have to trust that the government won't take it from you. Same thing.

The idea of NFTs has been tainted by bull market euphoria and professional grifters. Narratives don't matter when you see a disgusting chimp sell for 900k USD, it makes everything look bad.

>you are really purchasing the receipt, and not the actual content.
i fail to see how this isn't straight bullish. agnostic smart receipts is gamechanging technology.

I hope something like that takes off, I'm just pessimistic.

yeah this one is great. NFT-tards are delusional

patreon is literally changing it's business model to incorporate NFTs. They already understand that NFTs will make patreon obsolete. a way to reward holders and get NFTs without all the crazy infrastructure? Patreon is bullish af on this.

>Reddit spacing
Not reading your shit

simple PFP are obviously not going to last. But look at what's going on with sandbox. artblocks. hausphases, fractals, clone X, generative dungeon.

like come on bro. this shit is serious adoption.

>Same thing.
You probably think that your analogy is smart as fuck, when in reality it is retarded as fuck.

we do nothing.

people miss out on generational opportunities every decade.

not everyone is supposed to make it.

NFTs will continue on with or without them.

the current iteration is just a ponzi. There are not a lot of redeeming qualities to it. Monkey jpegs are worthless.
Video game nfts are pie in the sky.
>high upfront cost.
>pervese incentives like play to earn, instead of play for fun.
>how do you transfer your nfts from one game to another game without fucking up the economy of the new game.
> game economies are so fucking hard to regulate, and you add nfts to the mix.
> this is lootbox on steroids.

i feel like most of the nftretards havn't even played good games, whenever you add a fucking cash shop to the game it just becomes populated by whales, who just buy shit up for prestige. Why the play the game when I can just spen 2000 dollars look better than a pleb who spend 2000 hours on the game.

The left isn't anti intellictual, it is the crypto capitalist are being unashamed with their greed and fucking over an entire industry .
Not to mention the tech behind this shit is so painfully ill equipped to support the current global population of gaming. any working solution will be a centralized chain controlled by a group of gaming companies anyways.

honestly waiting to see how this shit survives the bear market. If it can, I might buy up some meme nfts next cycle.
>inb4 I will be too late and left behind.
I will take that chance. There is always new memes and nfts that come out

Im not talking about using NFTs to sell digital trinkets. I am talking about using NFTs to replace Steam and iTunes. Think bigger.

Then maybe you shouldn't have used a cartoon of a nigger monkey as the flagship debut of your technology.

yeah i will believe it when ethereum network can withstand that at least 1/5th of that traffic and not shit the bed.

literally the same thing

We don't need to communicate with goyim cattle at all

Nah he's right. You don't own anything but an entry in a government ledger that says the land is yours. In fact you don't even own that, the government owns that ledger, you own nothing

Right you are, gent!
