people can bitch about his connections and tradfi backing, it takes an uncommon amount of courage and skill to bribe politicians, leave home and globetrot for the best regulatory environment, and navigate a highly adversarial environment to a position of supremacy. there is jealousy there because he is living out the armchair trader's fantasy of being a crypto overlord. it's also understandable for defi farmers and margin traders to be angry because alameda and ftx have routinely pillaged the market. hard to get gigarich without stepping on a lot of toes. it's fair to be ambivalent about him, he's both a market maker responsible for bringing financial freedom to a lot of smart/lucky traders, yet also a major opponent for traders
