How does something like this even happen? This must be a very elaborate psyop to shut crypto down or something
Hunter Martinez
literally the most basic ape you could buy
imagine hanging out with eminem and justin bieber at a party, how fucking gay is that
Grayson Martinez
Of all the things that could have been worth a million dollars, it's these shitty monkey pics. Literally nothing special on an artistic level.
Asher Butler
Grab an inbetweener bear while You can. He bought bayc to boost his own project.
Ian Cook
how the FUCK did crypto get completely btfo by monkey pictures?!?
Adrian Harris
The same as people buying far too expensive watches.
Colton Hernandez
Distract the normies with shiny things while you accumulate assets with real utilities?
Noah Cook
I accumulated shitloads of BAT, and these monkey jpegs dabbed on my gains by several orders of magnitude
Brandon Flores
>BTC becomes so slow and expensive to use that the only "fixes" are off chain solutions which defeats the purpose of BTC
>unusable as currency, just "BUY AND HODL"
>literal meme pictures replace BTC since there are only 1 of them instead of 22 million
>just "BUY AND HODL"
BTC is unironically 22 million NFTs that don't even point to urls.
Jack Gray
undoubtably, the few that know this will seem to have made out like bandits in the next few months
Austin Phillips
Yes we will crash horribly

You don’t get it bro, it’s literally fucking over.
Fundamentals don’t matter anymore. All the old pricing models have completely broken. Nobody cares about decentralization anymore, everyone is perfectly content with Solana going down a couple times a week if they can mint monkeys for a few cents. Nobody wants or cares about Bitcoin anymore because they correctly understand that it’s a greater fool ponzi just like every token, and only those that get in first make money.
The old way of understanding crypto is completely dead and debunked. I’m not being ironic, I’m not trolling, crypto is just NFTs and metaverse shit, it’s the only use case it has produced. If you’re still holding “currencies” thinking that’s what crypto is you still have a 2015 mindset. It’s over. No more comparisons to the early internet, to the dotcom bubble, NOTHING here is useful for anyone.
Brandon Ramirez
This is one of the most uninspired pieces of ‘art’ I have ever seen
Maybe Alex Becker is right and these will survive because it’s just a pissing contest for rich people
Brody Ortiz
Normies just can't deal in the abstract, so they need some retarded ass "material" thing to interact with crypto.
Kevin Lee
Just Beiber didnt purchase it. His managers were paid to.
But yes, this is the top, the nft market is dying and the exchanges that sell links to a google drive need to keep it going.
Michael Reed
yes hello sir
Ian Smith
reality is a fucking joke
Lucas Diaz
it actually an asian female who makes the art
Liam Harris
Yeah it is, and bitcoin and all of the cryptomarket are the biggest bubble of all of human history. There was nothing else ever. We could either crash now, or go on and on for a few years until bitcoin is worth half a million and the whole world is buying and trading crypto and then it comes, then it strikes.
I hope it will cause world war 3, billions of deaths, chaos, death, suffering, cannibalism etc.
I pray for it everday. Amen.

I can't wait until 80% of zoomers acclimate to NFTs because their idols are involved in a positive way and the remaining 10% screech about them with irrational hatred (fueled largely by gender reassignment therapy)
Brayden Thomas
history will label this period as peak financial stupidly, a title formally held by tulip mania
congratulations retards
Ryder Peterson
I mean, maybe this isn't the peak? But it is hard to imagine someone buying that particular AI-generate money jpeg for even twice what Bieber paid for it. How much more enthusiasm can the market display? One day, someone will buy a single pixel of a jpeg famed Swedish youtuber Pewdiepie once owned for $10 million, fully and reasonably expecting to one day sell that pixel for $100 million later.
Ryder Clark
Every time I hear about normies buying NFTs I just imagine them struggling with the meta mask wallet and waiting on ETH transactions to go through while wondering if they did it right.
Or do they just pay people to do it for them?
Cooper Edwards
>it is hard to imagine someone buying that particular AI-generate money jpeg for even twice what Bieber paid for it.
I doubt he cares. Aren't they just a flex/status thing at this point? He probably knew he was spending a million bucks for a twitter avatar that nobody else would ever pay that much for. Probably doesn't care about flipping it.
Luis Harris
nobody wants your rug token, HINU scammers

Luxury automatic watches are pieces of jewelry hand-made by extremely skilled artisans and held to the highest standards of accuracy, longevity, and complexity, with their value increased even further by some of the rare and precious materials used to make them.

flurks were removed by opensea yet still traded
Jordan Wood
The article still brought up great points.
>You still don't actually "own" the asset. Just a pointer
>This thing that you "own" can be changed or taken down at any point by the server hosting the NFTs.
>There is no cryptographic hash to verify on what is being shown to you is the same thing as what you "own"
I'm speaking good faith when I say that I think it's great ST made a shitton of money off of Flurk, I just think the technology is disappointing and decentralization is second thought and sometimes outright not even needed.
Nicholas Torres
kek do most NFTs really just contain a URL and nothing more?
Carson Allen
you're a retard if you don't think there are massive amounts of chemistry equipment acquired over the past 70 years and used in clandestine labs nationwide. There's acid labs in NYC and acid labs in rural Albertan town.
>It’s not teenagers synthesizing. It’s GDF doing what they’ve done for 50 years.
literally this, don't question GDF they believe they are on a holy mission
James Gonzalez
Kinda have too. You know how the BTC ledger is almost 400gb? Now imagine trying to store jpegs and transaction data on it.
Nicholas Phillips
start following apes with more than 5k followers, look at the top projects like cool cats ,RTFKT, Doodles, DeadFellaz, Gutter Cat Gang, alien frens and see what the ones that bought into these are following. Requires a lot of research but by god it's the best alpha I ever got.
Juan Clark
>see monkey, immediately think of black people
why are leftists like this bros?
Aaron Robinson
High iq take
Nolan Myers
bro i dont come here any longer cause Any Forums fucking sucks cock are giving out alpha these days. get with the program
Grayson Robinson
Twitter doesn’t let you sort by new following by default so this alpha is useless.
These fags follow so much shit.
Adrian Hernandez
NFTs themselves are just tokens programmed to point at certain metadata tags, sites like opensea are coded to look for an "image" tag in the contract and render whatever is linked to it. "image" is just the popular standard that people use, you could use "picture" as a tag for example and then code your nft marketplace to look for "picture" and render whatever has been linked to it
Josiah Williams
>sites like opensea are coded to look for an "image" tag in the contract and render whatever is linked to it.
so going back to the screencap, if OpenSea goes down, or someone buys the domain and just shuts it down...does that mean all those NFTs are worthless or non-existent? That seems counter-intuitive to the idea of NFTs
Cameron Campbell
If the host stops paying for the domain of the url, then the NFT is lost. You can also mint multiple NFTs that point to the same url (and image, or audio file, or whatever) by just doing it on other chains.
You can also just change what the image itself is. NFTs are proof of receipt, not of ownership. This includes not owning anything of the IP or copyright of the hosted data. So stolen assets can get the NFT holder in trouble, even if it was the fault of the minter.
Ayden Gomez
Not even close to it user just the best time to bag more gems, at the end of the day we are still early.
Just did some DCA on my holdings you know added more to my bags like btc and S-Y-S particularly because of the NEVM smartcontract and the coming ZKrollups
Lincoln Cooper
>If the host stops paying for the domain of the url, then the NFT is lost.
>NFTs are proof of receipt, not of ownership.
fucking kek this is hilarious, I would've just assumed this was FUD but it seems you're right. Holy fuck lmao
Cameron Anderson
anyone can code or fork a frontend to do what opensea does, which just looks for a tag called "image" and tries to render whatever that has been linked to. is right though, if the NFT creator points their image tag at a cloud address they control, they can change the image or delete it or it can vanish if they stop paying for hosting. that's why NFTs with on-chain images are better, they are immutable
Lincoln Cook
Most non retards host their images and json file at IPFS which is also the standard.
Caleb Evans

Samuel Green
Can someone explain one thing to me? Who makes these ape nfts? I know they're programatically created, but is some team behind it? How reach are those mfkers? What stops someone else from making the same shit? How did bored apes become the hottest nft?
I just can't wrap my head around this. This isn't even money laundering anymore, retards are buying this for real now.
Camden Baker

What assets are you bagging? I am going for lox, lox utility will lead to more adoption because everyone will have to use the blacklist for added security.
Aiden Torres

can someone pls explain to me why you would want to own one of these? what do you do with a monkey picture? why not just screenshot it and use the image for whatever you want it for?
EXPLAIN THE APES
Alexander Moore
There was internet poker a decade ago - It needs fresh gambling addicts with fresh money to sustain itself. The shitcoin casion is pretty much the same thing disgiused as decentralized finance. It will eventually fizzle out when because everyone will try to be on the side of the "house" by staking and providing liquidity.
Bitcoin on the other hand is a very strong Schelling Point that can provide trustless international settlement in a future where USA is no longer a global Levihathan
Dominic Nelson
Because niggers look like chimps, maybe?
Jeremiah Fisher
I am gonna jump on the subsquid NFTs in that case. Subsquid is going a solid long term hodl, the NFT will accumulate more value over time
Lucas Lopez
What's so special about these dumb looking monkeys?

This guy is right, but also wrong. We will go through a relentless crash like dotcom, and from the ashes the actual game-changing infrastructure will rise. So there's two traps you must avoid, don't be all in before the crash and don't think it's all over when the music stops.
Michael Thomas
>normies buying the bottom of eth and exchanging it for a jpeg
is it really this easy bros?
Luke Jones
I agree. So far I've only found KDA and TRAC that I'm confident could rise from the ashes
Grayson Baker
Eh, I think gamefi, and NFTs will stay. But yeah, the crash will come, a lot of casinos and scamchains with it. Will regulation bring it down, or something else?
Owen Bennett
Me too user. There are so many people I have to find when society starts to falter.
Kevin Cox
>monkey picture bad because media told me so after the whole GME thing
Ayden Hughes
Anime NFTs are gonna explode Q1 & Q2. Invest accordingly.
Aiden Thompson
I'm not entierly sure what "gamefi" is, but it the liquidity farming platforms I've used already reminded me of those addictive time-base browser games. I assume you could make even more advanced gameification, but I'm not sure this could keep the fish comming indefinentely.
NFTs have some obvious use cases - my favourite being as a revenue stream for artists when their physical albums become collectibles. I initially thought you could use it for supply chain management actross multiple corporate entities, but since I fould TRAC I've understood that you'd need something significantly more advanced to capture that complexity.
Sebastian Williams
>loli NFTs
WHOA MAMA
Robert Richardson
Man, I'm so fucking tired of this clown world. So fucking tired of this clown market, tired of clown corporate world, tired of clown ranjeets that compete with me online on jewgle.
Literally, everything that I can think of is going to shit. Everything is a constant downhill trend, especially if you're not an NPC. I fucking hope that it's just my perception that's fucked, but boy does it seem like this clown society is crumbling down for realsies.
Jonathan Campbell
>mfw the whole metaverse+NFT thing is a psyop to make people think crypto will fail, tanking the market while enterprises who are in on it buy.
Benjamin Morgan
Name a good anime NFT collection, so far they look quite bad
Austin Evans
So you're trying to tell me I can draw, for example, bored pink woyak, and some spoiled rich zoomer will buy it with ETH that I can sell and buy for example boomer rocks?
So, where is the catch?
Landon Williams
Crypto is doing what crypto does, Distribute wealth while simultaneously absorbing debt through global financial socialism, Quit being gay about it.
Gabriel Myers
Clown Word crumbling just means Piss Earth (lvl2) isn't going to happen
Jeremiah Bailey
Hahaha suffer white boy
Sebastian Lewis
my fucking face when someone important accuses bored ape of being racist and the price plummets
Camden Baker
No, you need big bux marketing to instill fomo into NPCs. You also need rich buddies to inflate your nft prices. Then, you wait for idiots to start buying them and competing with each other who paid the most for a .png.
Matthew Lopez
Most successful NFT projects come from people that already have enough fame to shill their shit or pay someone famous to shill your garbage. If you're a broke nobody, then your shit will never sell. Just look at all these people trying to shill their NFTs with little upvotes
Jordan Ortiz
>Clown Word crumbling just means Piss Earth (lvl2) isn't going to happen
You know what I actually meant. Piss, fard, and shid earth is definitely going to happen.
give me a break, king.
Nathan Edwards
>One of the controversial points is the BAYC logo, which Ripps found similar to the nazi Waffen Totenkopf, an elite SS army division. Both logos show skulls (human and ape) on a black background with white letters, similar to many other logos by popular brands. The debate was stirred further after teeth counting, revealing that both skulls have 18 teeth, which is considered a numeric code for Hitler. The project's launch date, April 30th, is also regarded as problematic, as it is the anniversary of Hitler's death.
>Hawaiian shirts on some apes, shown so often in pop culture, are here associated with the far-right Boogaloo movement. At the same time, army attire, including a Prussian helmet, WWII fighter gear, and Vietnam-era jackets, is seen as a cry for a return of the Western military dominance.

how will it all end? will it end?
Asher Phillips
So you think defi is done and shitty nft art is the future? You’re the dumbest faggot I’ve ever seen on this website. Congrats
