This is the problem. This era of wrestling has no one with real charisma so people forgot what it looks like. This nigga has no charisma. He has a schtick. That is not charisma. Charisma is that you can be yourself, go out and say something, and the next day it's on a fucking t-shirt. A schtick is a contrived act that is based on doing something very specific ad nausuem with diminishing returns. There have been times in wrestling where guys started with charisma and then ended up doing schtick. But never has it gone the other way around. He is literally a different version of orange cassidy, someone doing something very specific and strange that can be "entertaining" in so much as it's the first couple of times you see it.

Give the exact same gimmick to Apollo Crews or something and see if it works. It won't, because he has no charisma. I'll give him this, apparently he's been doing this gimmick since his debut back in 2013 and hasn't broke character at all in that time. Compared to someone like Jervis Cottonbelly who's openly whined that he'd completely give up his whole identity and mask for a booking, it's admirable to see him maintain kayfabe for this long.
