This is AEW's fault. Tony's constant surprise debuts are desensitizing fans and they constantly want surprises on the shows. I'm pretty sure smarks would love an all surprise entrants royal rumble.

As a GenX old fuck I grew up in the Golden Age of WWF. Although I preferred NWA/WCW I always watched the Fed because the top of the card was always interesting. In my early 20's I rediscovered wrestling after not watching from '93-'96 and was one of those dorks who had 2 VCR's recording Nitro on one and Raw on the other.
I like that AEW is gaining serious traction, all the best era's in wrestling had 2 if not 3 promotions in competition, driving one another to put out good shit. I don't need to hear some console war WWE zealot tell me what I see with my own eyes isn't true. WWE is awful and has been for 10+years. These fools who retreat to "record profits" act as if they're getting a chunk of the money! You can still be a fan and admit that WWE is dogshit. It's not one or the other.
the record profits marks are a huge part of the problem. no matter what wwe does they'll always cheer them on so they can always say to themselves "well these people liked it" and they rarely second guess themselves.
