I found Eastern TN to be a shithole. Western NC was pretty cool, but rapidly getting developed. Honestly, I didn't like the attitude of a lot of the locals. They were very comfortable with mediocrity and low-achievement, and couldn't keep up their property. This is a cultural difference, and I did find them to be very fine folk. Racist and traditional.

the weather in San Diego is awesome, the people are generally pretty chill compared to those from Los Angeles and north. SD used to be a part of Mexico, so to say that it's a breading ground is kinda lel, that has always been true, and based conservative mexicans are probably going to be the thing that saves shithole california some day. Anyways, mexicans barely live in SD anymore comparatively speaking (yeah i know they are the majority) but my neighborhood in San Marcos used to be 90% mexican, now its 75% chinese. I'll take Juan and Jaime all day over the new inhabitants.

SD has high-achieving conservative white people, which is a pretty rare combo. It's whiter than a lot of other CA towns. I'll also say that SLO is a good place. I've really liked my time there. And while I haven't spent much time in SB, I've heard good things.

Northern Idaho is pretty based, but has a surprising amount of hispanics.
I've heard really good things about it. Unfortunately, taxes and regulation in NYS are big gay. I've seen people fly the Dixie flag in North Idaho, too. And in rural California.
