Most of the actual dem braintrust knows how dire the situation is. They have broken everything down by demographics and have a spinning plate response. The faster the plate spins the more votes from that demographic. The trouble they are running into is by spinning the black and White woman plate so fast they are losing the others.
The demographics is destiny theory failed. They had hoped there would be more inertia to keep all the plates spinning. It isn't. Turns out people like to be treated as people and not blocs of mindless drones.
Ranked voting is a scheme designed to elect middle of the road candidates. That is their new hope. Sadly for them Alaska happened.
