He's not. He became a lolcow in his teenaged years and has heaps of humililating things about his life permanently online, along with people who hate him and go out of their way to preserve those embarrassing things. I only know this cause I saw it floating around during the shitstorm 2 weeks ago.
It's clear he is a crab in a bucket GENERALLY in his psychology. He is humiliated and his life is stained, forever, by his actions documented online. He hates this and is filled with regret and shame and humiliation. Instead of retreating and building his life as best he can, he dedicates it to making the same thing happen to other people, so they can suffer along with him (cant say this enough - crab in a bucket).
And all of this he uses mental gymnastics to wrap this up as "brave and free" journalism. Most of the posters there are potential lolcows themselves who are motivated by the same psychology. They get agitated when this is pointed out.

I've seen tweets from a couple of trannies who managed to snap back to reality, but the vast majority of them are, as I've said, too far gone.
