Why is no one talking about Armenia and Azerbaijan?

Why is no one talking about Armenia and Azerbaijan?
I can hardly find any information on what’s going on.
Is the conflict still ongoing? Is the CSTO going to do anything? Has Russia said anything? If no CSTO member helps them then what was the point? That whole organization is essentially useless. And each country in it will have lost my respect.

>Why is no one talking about Armenia and Azerbaijan?
Because active combat is very slow. Nothing major will happen there for now, it will be a slow grind until it might later blow over into a full on big War.
>I can hardly find any information on what’s going on.
Ask me, I can tell you.
>Is the conflict still ongoing?
Ceasefire-ish situation with random deaths right now.
>Is the CSTO going to do anything?
Russia tried to negotiate Ceasefire, see above, but Russia is not going to support Armenia in full scale conflict, I can elaborate.
>That whole organization is essentially useless.
It kind of is.

Because Azerbaijan is enforcing their UN recognised territory including by Russia. Armenian shills seething about muh Turks just isn't effective after they backed the invasion of Ukraine

Russia won't help because they recognise Nagorno Karabakh as independent and not actually part of Armenia?

Also what do georgians think of Turkey?

Why would Russia not support Armenia? Anything other than not having the military power to do so? What is Azerbaijan trying to achieve? Is Georgia going to try anything?

But Armenia proper was attacked to my understanding.

they've stopped fighting. Armenia lost 40~ Azerbaijan lost 50~

Your country has been clogging up this board for over half a year. Can I just have one thread not about you?

>Russia won't help because they recognise Nagorno Karabakh as independent and not actually part of Armenia?
Russia never had intention of supporting either Azerbaijan or Armenia. Since the start of the conflict in 90s (which was continuation of a 1000 year old conflict), Russia was not trying to make one or the other win instead it was trying to keep the frozen conflict ongoing as a future pressure point to regain BOTH Azerbaijan and Armenia in its sphere of influence.
The thing is that they outplayed their cards too much and now Azerbaijan is insanely wealthy and powerful for its size, thus they are starting to gain enough sovereignty to truly play any side the way they want both Russia and West.
>Also what do georgians think of Turkey?
Georgians see Turkey the same way we would see Russia if Russia no longer had territorial conflicts with us and was a fertile soil for business and trade with us. A past enemy that we are weary of culturally but do not mind since we don't have any current issues.
>Why would Russia not support Armenia?
It does not support Armenia over Azerbaijan, Armenia in grand scheme of things as incredibly irrelevant piece of land with zero resources, the only importance it has marginally is as a passage to other southern states. Armenia from a geopolitical sense exists to keep Azerbaijan in check and also within Russian sphere of influence because Azerbaijan is extremely important having an enormous natural resource trove as well as entire West Caspian bank.
>What is Azerbaijan trying to achieve?
I drew up pick, this is most likely what they want
>Is Georgia going to try anything?
Relationships between Armenia and Georgia are tense because Armenia has never showcased any support for our state, on the other hand various Armenian factions have tried to contest Tbilisi, support Abkhazian separatism etc. it is complicated history
Georgia is not going to help Armenia in any way other that humanitarian support

Yes, Armenia proper was attacked. Azerbaijan is seeing weakness in Russia and since Armenia has the only ally in Russia, a distant ally that is unwilling to give out "extreme" military support since they themselves are also interested in Azerbaijan, more importantly Armenia has not tried to reach a kind of resolution with Georgia either so it is surrounded by one state that is indifferent to it, two states that hate it, and far away to north over a mountain range has a state that kind of cares about it but not really.

Thanks for explaining this as someone in the neighborhood. I guess I thought maybe Georgia might try and take territory back for Russia was my first thought. Also wouldn’t this gives Putin an excuse to mobilize? I feel like they could use this opportunity to destroy Azerbaijan oil fields or pipelines and ruin the EUs gas alternatives. But maybe I’m so off base as I don’t know this region well.

Not quite at all, we just took 100km2 land from Armenia proper by excusing the fact we technically do not have any border agreement signed...and we are going to take only more land over time

>Relationships between Armenia and Georgia
So fucking bizarre. Even 1000 years later it's the same old song and dance. Imagine how many t*rks woulda died if you actually teamed up.

How much land? Georgia bro made a map. Do you think something like that?

>I guess I thought maybe Georgia might try and take territory back for Russia was my first thought.
Current Georgian government is EXTREMELY opportunistic and EXTREMELY careful to a point of being a negative. They have well known pro-Russian factions within it as well though they would quickly flip given the opportunity. Georgia is unlikely to do any actions until Russia starts to actively fail/fall, if it does then Georgia would of course regain the territories. So called South Ossetia, as laughable as it may sound, is a territory of 40 thousand people.
>I feel like they could use this opportunity to destroy Azerbaijan oil fields or pipelines and ruin the EUs gas alternatives. But maybe I’m so off base as I don’t know this region well.
Russia has personal interests in Azerbaijan oil fields, the issue is that eventually they would want said pipelines to be theirs so it would not make sense to destroy them, additionally this would case gigantic escalation with Turkey because Azerbaijan has unanimous support with Turkey. Basically the case with Azerbaijan as I said before is that they slipped out of Russian narrative (for better or worse who knows) and currently are becoming a renegade agent with a lot of sovereignty and ability to dictate rules to their neighbors.

can you please take ukraine first and stop this bullshit

During peak centuries of Kingdom of Georgia when Caucasus had a chance to be unified into one fully Caucasian state without any outside imperial influences Armenians were actively sabotaging those attempts.
They always had very bizarre relationships and always chose their allies very very oddly in my opinion, for example rather than abandon Miyaphisitism which is what their church is based on and considered to be heresy by the rest of Orthodox they allied with Persians against Byzantine Greeks. I can go into this more but Armenians are a wild card kind of ally, their nobility was also always chaotic plotting against each other with almost zero unity and because of that very quickly their society turned into nomad trader style society without much attachement to one landmass.

Pic related, in this period there was a chance for even the northern Caucasus to become fully Christian, but mongols came in 14th century and destroyed it

We are officially given unclear statetements like "we took a highway between Yerevan and Gorus" or "we are advancing towards Yerevan" so it's hard to tell which lands we have actually acquired. Though i would love to see the map by Georgia bro

Now that we are bashing the Armenian history, here's a fun read

Based David the Builder. Between mongols and timur I'm shocked Georgia kept on fighting turks for another 500 years. I did a school project in the 4th grade where I had to research Georgia and I've been fascinated with the region ever since.

Nice to see people from Caucasus here, do you know your background/ethnic composition, always interesting to hear.
Also what is Azerbaijan general opinion about David Gareja issue? I think that it is incredibly nigger tire behaviour from Azerbaijan to make a single plot of land size less of a football stadium such an issue.

> Russia has personal interests in Azerbaijan oil fields, the issue is that eventually they would want said pipelines to be theirs so it would not make sense to destroy them, additionally this would case gigantic escalation with Turkey because Azerbaijan has unanimous support with Turkey. That sounds like what they want to do in Ukraine and are failing. At this point it would be cheaper to just destroy everything and pick up the pieces later.

We are currently a failed nation, there needs to be a major change for us to become an actual nation with some kind of future ahead of us.

Why did Putin sell his bussy to Erdogan? What does it mean to Greek and Georgia ass rape later on?

Again the issue in this case is that they can not afford to make Turkey as their enemy because Turkey controls entire Black Sea trade through bosphorus canal. Unless Azerbaijan does some kind of escalation against Russia which would justify actual military intervention directly, Russia so far has kind of lost out on political front. As I said despite Azerbaijan government being pretty shit for some people, overall they've played their cards in the best way possible where now everything is playing out on their terms, which is kind of insanely successful.

>Why did Putin sell his bussy to Erdogan?
A lot of international trade going into Russia depends on Turkey because of multiple factors, on of the most important ones being Black Sea hence why Russia needed Crimean military in the first place because without it Russians literally can't content Turkey in any way on that front.
>What does it mean to Greek and Georgia ass rape later on?
Unironically Turkey is less stable as a country than Azerbaijan at this point lol. That being said Georgia does not have ongoing territorial conflicts with Turkey or Azerbaijan so if a conflict arises it will be a new one later on.

Seems like it's been that off and on your entire existence. Takes a hardy mountain people to survive in that kind of confluence between steppe niggers and muslims.

6/8 Azeri from the South of the Republic, 1/8 Azeri from Iran, and 1/8 Talish. Though i 100% identify as a Republic Azeri.

Your average Azeri has no idea that such a monastery even exists, put the entire blame on our government (whom we already insult enough on a daily basis).

>t. commie mutt

I think that population dynamics are not on our side. Birthrates are failing everywhere universally and Georgia is so far staying at replacement rate unlike west but there are too many people moving to the west seeking better life (even though life here imho is better than in west if you start earning money).
I hope that in coming decades we will have a very strong government, I do not know from where but there needs to be new energizing force and very active political process with all our neighbors to gain best positions for future.
I still believe that there is some kind of a path for Trans-Caucasian economic sphere with long term transit and financial contracts between Georgia, Azerbaijan and yes even Armenia. With right management we could capitalize on the incoming traffic of goods from China to west through Caspian-Black sea trade not to mention importance of Baku pipelines and the entire region could flourish.

Source?

Talish have a very specific kind of face to them, it is hard to pinpoint but I don't think I've seen any other people that look like them.
What do you think is going to happen in Azerbaijan in near future, do you think current government will ride out with its strong position or is there chance for a better government that would make internal politics and general life better?
