I am a law student in my final semester of university, and for the last nine months I have been interning at a law firm. At this firm, interns can be considered for promotion to paid work after three months. I was not made aware of this fact until recently when a man who had finished his three-month internship was given a job. I have subsequently asked for a job and the firm has been giving me the run around for three weeks now. Each time I ask about the progress of my application, I am told that the hiring department has not yet discussed my application with the boss. I am the most senior intern at the firm and am tasked with training other interns, conducting legal research, and even liaising with clients. How should I proceed from here? I want to work at this firm because I enjoy the environment, the work is challenging, and I feel like I am learning a lot. In comparison, if I were to intern or get a paralegal job at another firm, I am likely to just be fetching coffees, doing paperwork, and other mundane tasks. How can I compel the hiring department to have the conversation with the boss? Should I go over their heads and send my application directly to the boss? Should I speak with the boss in person? What would you do?

Lmfao you're even doing the training of other slaves for free....

>works at a law firm
>doesnt know the law
Ngmi

Yepppp, it is seriously fucked up.

Mate, what does knowing the law have to do with this?

Except that I believe the firm is uncoordinated enough that the hiring bloke has not discussed my application with the boss. Should I just jump over the hiring manager and hit up the boss himself?

i am a lawyer and i need to ask you why in the fuck did you go to law school? are you retarded? that's why i did it. i am low IQ retarded piece of shit.

sounds like they don't like you. better look for another job. better yet, can you get a new career altogether?

If you want to leave anyway tell them to draw up your papers or you'll fuck off and they will have to train the new interns themselves

Yep, I am also retarded. If I knew any better I would have become a tradesman. That's where the real money is to be had.

They are really good at acting like they do like me and it is only now that I am realising it is a complete and utter fucking ruse.

What other careers would you suggest?

How would you phrase this more professionally?

>What other careers would you suggest?
i have no idea because i am retarded. i am sorry our lives turned out so poorly friend. i think i want to be neet again. maybe i can work at a pizza shop and deliver pizzas? i hate my life so much.

Tell me how the intern training process is made. You can exploit this by demanding a contract at a critical period

Wdy hate your life? It's a gift.

because i am almost 40 and still no gf. life is a box of turds.

based jewish tactics

Fucking Jews

Fuck women. Getting a hole isn't a goal, it's a consequence of hitting your goals.

apply to their worst enemy.. tell them everything

I hear pizza shops pay pretty decently these days. Better than nothing at least...

The current intake of interns will end in a month or so and they will not take in new interns until next March. They love a good 'ol feast and famine regime. I haven't been there over the summer period before but I get the sense that they struggle to compete with the bigger firms during the university break.

The intern hiring process works like this though. Universities run mandatory internship classes throughout the law degree, this firm puts their hand up as a possible destination, and three times a year there are intakes for the classes and the firm subsequently gets interns. Over the summer break the big law firms run very competitive internships / clerkships and mid tier / boutique firms struggle to find any new interns and old interns leave once their three month stay elapses.

i already met my goals. i became a lawyer. now what? i just make up another arbitrary goal? even my retarded ass can see that is retarded.

The fact you're coming here for advice proves you're a spineless coward and a retard. If you're qualified you should have raised a big stink and talked over your supervisors or whoever. The fact you let yourself get shit on is justification for their actions. That's how it is in every job.

They do not have a worst enemy, haha. They are only a mid-tier firm. I think the majority of law firms are pretty anonymous and don't have enemies.

I was just trusting and fed into their bullshit propaganda. I would genuinely like advice on what I should do and how I should approach this situation. Do I go straight to the boss with my application and stop talking to the hiring manager?

It really feels like they are using me but I am also aware that people are just people. The hiring manager may well just be incompetent and have failed to discuss the issue with the big law boss. Do you think it would be professional to go directly to the big law boss with my application?

>Do I go straight to the boss
you know what, i might be retarded but fuck it. do that. sounds like you are already fired so might as well go for a hail mary. maybe the old fucker becomes enamored with your brash display of confidence. after all, boomers are faggots for that kind of thing. you lose nothing.

good luck user.
