And still are $27,000+... while something like a new $21,000 Honda Civic will give you 40 MPG, a 500 mile range, reliability and untethered go-anywhere-at-anytime freedom.

Typical affordable EVs have around a 150 mile range under ideal conditions. Teslas average around 280 miles on a full charge. EV-pushing trannys like to cherry pick high-end Teslas and just assume one is somehow finding the magical Tesla 480v "fast-charging" stations all along their route.

EV's have shit range.
EV's take longer to charge than the charge-time gives running-time... drastically restricting your movements (the entire reason behind the EV push).
EV's are attached to the power grid... e.g. turn off the power grid in a region = no populace movement in that region.
EV's are already getting remote control/remote shut-down backdoors as a standard.
You cannot store electricity to any great degree (enough to operate vehicles).
Gasoline and diesel can basically be stored indefinitely with stabilizers. NPC city faggots don't seem to understand that rural people have always had their own fuel storage tanks, enough to keep their vehicles running for months at a time.
Gasoline is an amazing energy-dense resource and oil is not going to ever run out despite propaganda claims (look into biotic vs abiotic oil).
Gasoline cars do far less overall damage to the environment that EV's do (not that it even matters, "muh environment" has always been a red herring).

California generates 259 Twh (data from 2021) of electricity each year, half of it is from Natural gas.
California burns around 21 billion gallons (data from 2019) of gasoline each year, that's equivalent to 746 Twh.
So they would have to more than triple electricity production to go full EV. And that's not even considering diesel vehicles, or airplanes.
Thus CA has absolutely no ability to charge EVs. They've've shut down their nuclear plants. They're're phasing out their coal plants.
*They rely entirely on electricity imports from other states*
And even if they had the power, charging all the cars would literally melt the transmission grid. And no one in the CA government is going to allow the expansion of the CA grid by a factor of roughly 3-4x.
