What does Any Forums think of Daria?

It was supposed to be a feminist show at the time, but when I watched it in 2016 it seemed pretty fucking based:
>black parents overplaying the racism card actually depicted as being in the wrong
>makes fun of feminazis (science teacher)
>makes fun of effeminate men (o'neil)
>makes fun of retarded shitlibs in general (the kids she babysits, especially in the parade episode)
>zero preaching about x-ism

>It was supposed to be a feminist show
wut

90s counter culture was very different from the liberalism of today. It was contrarian, introspective, and people back then knew how to take the piss as they say.

You're supposed to grow up with her and realize that S1 Daria was a bitch. People miss this.

Daria never struck me as a feminist.
Just the typical late gen Xer/early millenial teen who was jaded and couldn't be fucked with society at that time.

Diarrhea's cool, uhuhuh, huhuhuh.

Gen-X's celebration of being stupid is a big part of what got all of us here
>t. Xennial

I just remember a guy I bought meth from in the 90’s loved it I thought it sucked smelly balls

I'm an early zoomer (born during the show's run) and found it heavily relatable on a general level. I was sick of my marxist teachers as well as all the shitty mumble rap and capeshit all my classmates were obsessed with when I watched it.

Seasons 1 and 2 are hilarious. Outcast mean girls rip on everyone. Season 3 is put you to sleep boring. Then it goes full soap opera and just isn't the same show anymore. Is It Fall Yet? is hilarious, but sadly ushers in the soap opera years of the show. Which destroys the Daria/Jane friendship. Is It College Yet? is Meh.

Daria is a third wave feminist, in theory, and she makes fun of it in reality.

This, Daria's charade sounds cool and deep when you're younger, but it evaporates when it comes into contact with the real world. Anytime she has to leave her bubble she's quickly flustered and lost for words.

It's literally genx snark like everything else that was popular with genx. feminists have always been obnoxious. if anything her sister was the true feminist.

Even back then I didn’t want to watch an ugly dyke

Super comfy show with a cool, art-school vibe. Also Jane Lane is my biggest cartoon crush

Fun fact: the daria theme is also the george floyd theme

I always thought she'd be great in the sack. And a threesome with Jane? Damn! That's the American Dream right there.

please stop. i am too depressed as it is.

Started watching it at like age 21 then stopped and watched all ten of the first Simpsons seasons instead. Is Daria worth watching, bros? Please note I have zero free time between work and school and lifting and learning to code, and still have several episodes of Spy X Family left to watch. Thanks, anons.

You said Diarrhea.

I fucking hate their laugh, cannot stand them, but I can see why people liked this show lol

If you cant get through one season of anime in an afternoon it is too late for you.

I dunno, I loved it at 16 but it might be less great if you first saw it as an adult.

>anime
>"just watch everything in one day, goy! that's how you properly enjoy a show!"
Shut up, asswipe. Don't make me kick your ass.
