I think it's related to a very similar phenomenon in the UK.

Simply: Millenials and Zoomers know they have been shafted. So their reaction is 'fuck the Boomer status quo'. In Sweden, which has been dominated by one party forever, there's no hiding the fact that the Left are to blame. In UK/USA, there have been superficially Right wing parties/PMs/Presidents (who were actually Left, maybe Trump was an actual Centrist), and the media generally present the alternative Hard Left party as centrist/Right. The UK Labour Party is currently seen as such, for example. And so the reaction amongst the young is generally very far to the Left, even more than would be expected among the young.

I can't speak for America, but I'm almost certain that the UK is going to try actual socialism within the next decade.

in regards to why sweden boomers are like that is because they are mostly ignorant of politics and/or fearful that their massive wealthfare/wellbeing country will be ruined if anyone but the social democrats who built it and have governed for so many years are not in power.
