Parole officer here, I arrested a recidivist violent sex offender after I caught him with child porn and the parole board reinstated him. Charges are still pending but he posts bail. He then gets two DWIs on the same day, so I arrest him again. The parole board then reinstated him again. He then cut off his ankle monitor and the parole board gave him a whole three months. I got more time charging him for a new felony for his ankle monitor, but by the time that and the child porn cases filter through his parole case would have essentially already been over so he will just be right back out again. Also he got time served for one of the DWIs and probation for the other.

There is one parole commissioner as well who goes around on friday and reinstates offenders who were revoked at their hearings, and then you have to go pick them up and bring them home. A month ago my unit revoked 8 offenders at their hearings and she turned 7 loose as soon as they were processed at our central prison facility. We had to borrow a bus to bring them back and most had new felony charges pending or had gone on the run.

Hasn't even been in a year and was already a felon with a stolen firearm.
