Multiple things :
1- Ancient Greece didn't tolerate Homosexuality as a normal thing to do.
It was Pederastry that was allowed : Older man with a young boy.
Some city states allowed it, some didn't.
Homosexuality wasn't really legal outside of that specific case.
2- The Spartan Mega-Warrior trope, especially with ripped abs and no armor is fake, as most would know, this visual comes from the comic series for 300.
- The Battle of Thermopylae was one of the most crucial battles of History, as it stopped Europe from being invaded by persia, effectively rewriting 90% of of modern history f they had failedi n stopping Persia.
-The Spartans weren't the ones that wanted to stay and fight to the death, they wanted to flee like pussies, it's the other greeks that wanted to stand their ground and not flee.
-Spartans were never considered the Best Fighters of ancient Greece, at least until way after, centuries later, when modern historians interpreted what happened in those days.
- Spartans were renowned for their poetry, and specialied in witty one liners.
Yes, the Spartans were doing Hollywood action movie style one liners way back then.
- There's the famous letter from a King, threating that "If he comes over there and wrecks them, he's kill all men and children and capture their women".
The Spartand responded with a single word : "If".
Also yes they did throw the messengers of Persia down a well. That part is historically accurate, funny enough.
Sorry for autistic rant blogposting , but at least now you know the truth.
