They did a really good job looking menacing just across the Norwegian border. But then again, you could invade us with a fruit knife. And win, since our entire plan of "defense" is sit tight and hope other NATO countries comes to save us.

There's no opposition in Russia. That's a weird thing for a westerner to realize, since we've been used to always hearing this political back and forth. All the parties, all the figures that are a threat to the state, have been removed. Only collaborators can function freely. And make no mistake, it's about the state, not just about Putin. Putin has been instrumental in restoring this totalitarianism to Russia, but it's not dependent on him personally. Even when he's gone, the system will stay in place.
You talked about Hitler. If the assassination plot in July of 1944 was successful, what would've happened? Sudden democratization and rationalization of the political system? No, some other figure would've just taken his place, maybe Goebbels or Himmler or Bormann.

Funny thing is the Armenians were initially one of the most Anti-Soviet groups in the CIS.
If you want proof, look at this absolutely KINO anime from 1991 as the Soviet Union was collapsing that was essentially a four minute spit on its grave to a popular Russian song called 'Everything is fine', depicting the Soviet Leadership as alligned with Islamists destroying Armenian heritage.
me too, maybe Ukrainian nationalism phenomenon will get through and rekindle average American love for personal freedom
