Compared to AI-generated text, people are more forgiving with art. Due to how are brains are wired, content creators easily review thousands of generated images for the best ones compared to thousands of generated versions of the same text prompt.
So is it designed to only use art styles previously created by humans for thousands of years? Can it create its own art style? It only relies on human concepts of things.

Yes, but it can extensively combine any artstyle or apply any single or combined artstyles to any content. It is available for literally anyone to use. It requires far less skill than photoshop for example.
Anyone claiming AI has its own awareness or is creating its own art is dumb - it just combines keywords and creates an output based on a number of variables.
