There have been kinda quiet rumors that AGDQ has been slowly dying for the last few years. The reasons have been all over the map - shitty organizers, the overwhelming flood of picky-ass trannies, huge dramatic blow-ups by major speedrunners, etc. Blaming an online AGDQ on Florida is a convenient way to hide the fact that they were probably not able to cover their costs and guarantee a good event anymore.
