This degree no longer holds the weight it once did. It is a degree that is honorary or was honorary after much dedication and servitude to the craft as it is referred to by many.

The 33rd degree was once revered as a major accomplishment. It was almost impossible in most states to find a 33rd degree mason until the internet and movies came out, that would be less than a 30 yr member who was very active.
