1) army almost stopped re arming conventional forces in 2014 it was almost as old as Ukrainian, worse at some aspects
2) Russian elite bleed tremendously in first stage of war when stupid political decisions were made to preserve Ukrainian lives
3) vast Ukrainian and western presence inside secret Russian agencies
4) Russian multiculturalism, it's basically the same as American melting pot but somehow worse. Nobody wants to die for union of equal mongolo Ukrainian chechen nations.
5) Russian generals and commanders on average are really fucking old, 20 years older than Ukrainian
6) Western reconnaissance and space orbital group, they basically see everything 24/7 it's impossible to shoot them down without triggering war
7) western land lease that was actually flowing in even before 2014 but alas at slower rate
8) Western psychological warfare such as this thread. Even though it's not really impressive it has cumulative effect when 75% of your nation is exposed to internet 24/7.

On the side note, despite all of this Russian army and Russian soldiers fight on sheer fucking will. I applaud them and will consider them heroes no matter what.

He should've mobilized and blitzkrieged that fucking thing properly, fuck NATO, fuck the west's public opinion, let them control the narrative and name call him. Winning no matter what is what matters in the end, but that pathetic fuck is too afraid for that, he keeps on worrying about the narrative and being virtuous: "oh, look at how we are such good boys advancing slowly to save muh innocent lives". Now get fucked, death toll is on the tens of thousands, thousands of assets and equipment lost and now they must bear the shame of being perceived as weak cowards.
NATO will grow bolder and will expand even further, they will dare even more now that they think Putin is afraid of escalation.
The best thing Putin could do now is to mobilize the economy and military and right before comencing a mass invasion he should nuke Kiev and all places through which the west sent weapons to Ukraine, right at the border with those NATO countries.
