For example, the southern state's have populations with DNA from the Khanates and Byzantine empires. While the northern most states have more Eskimo DNA. Indeed the Romanov dynasty were from the Byzantine empire, and may not have had a blood relation to the Rurikid, but they did have relations through a not immediate marriage.
