He was using his position as a hospital aide at his private hospitals to abuse children, as people who are nonces usually will gravitate towards this sort of thing (being a priest, child care provider, teacher, hospital aide) . No one knew he was doing it at the time because he did it all secretly at his hospitals, the BBC did a bit report about it after his death and witnesses have come forward admitting they saw him in hospital taking the kids to back room for his therapy sessions in the hidden rooms.
