To understand 9/11, first it's necessary to understand a bit about the neocons.
The neocons were a group of communist jewish intellectuals, who were growing increasingly concerned about the fate of Israel in the middle east. Stalin had purged jews from the Soviet government, so they were disenchanted with the USSR.
In the 1980's, the Republicans were in a rough spot. The Democrats were dominating the government, and had a superior political organization. In large part because of their jewish backing. They had finance, they had media, they had academia. The Republicans were frustratedly trying to get some jewish support themselves, so they could compete. They were approached by the neocons, and made something of a devil's bargain with them. The deal was, "we will give you media, financial, and intellectual support, in return you will do our bidding overseas".
Thus, Reagan was swept into office and became a national superhero, only with the caveat that he make Bush his vice-president, the man in the pocket of the neocons. Under the aegis of the Bush family, the Republicans were transformed into the "war party". Despite their historic opposition to foreign interventions. Anti-war traditional conservatives like Pat Buchanan were cast out, labelled "nazis".
Throughout the 90's the neocons created various magazines, think tanks, and lobbying groups to promote wars overseas. By 1998, the infamous neocon think-tank PNAC had drawn up invasion plans of every single middle eastern country, and were lobbying for war. They even released an infamous memo which called for a "pearl harbor style attack" to motivate Americans into war.
