The American Institute for the Study of War (@TheStudyofWar), based on reports from various sources about the situation in the Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian units are developing an offensive, has updated its front map.
I dont know why, but this picture of strelkov made loose my sides its like a painting of every emotion you can think of, anger, despair, assurance, pain, every emotion but happiness
whats happening in lysychansk and its vicinity? will ua keep pushing or stop to consolidate? do you think by pushing forwards ua would walk in a trap or are the russians so low in numbers, disoranized and scatered that it would be decapitating blow to the north-north east front?
Great, so they have improved on it, kek. Russians are getting their asses handed to them on a level that we haven't seen happen to either side in months
Not exactly, it's to cut off northern logistics routes from these cities, first of all Push can go also from Zaporizzhia front to avoid a cauldron situation
One thing the “tactical withdrawal” cope fails to account for is that Ukraine have advanced to a river, so it is now easier for them to defend the frontline there than it was before the counterattack.

Ukraine has liberated more territory in the last 72 hours than Russia has occupied in the last 3 months. Do the math.

Why would they need to stop now that they have momentum? They captured a trove of Russian gear and ammo and took back a fuckton of land. They need to keep pressing farther and forcing the Ruskis on the defensive.
"It will be hard, but we will resist. The Russians did not succeed in the blitzkrieg. They will wash themselves with their own blood. The truth is behind us. God is with us. And the Victory will be ours!”
I admit, my hobby/interests doesn't overlap with military tactics. But I was recommended to skim through the book shortly after the war started. Any interesting books.sites, and assorted media I can read to be the most informed on the war?

/chug/ is telling me Russia is only losing ground as a "feint" instead of getting btfo. Do you guys think there's any merit to this claim?
Elijah Edwards
This, morale is heaven's high for the ukies and below zero for the invaders, they have gear and are willing to push - the most sensible approach on the russian side would be to retreat the forces in the northeastern fron completely and reinforcing everything else (like what happened with Kiev) so the most reasonable choice is pushing as hard as possible from every side until this front collapses and then settling and focusing on fortifying the towns.
Honest question. Is the Russian Army the worst Army in mankind history? The US is embarrassing the Russians so god damn hard by only sending like 0,01% of their military to Ukraine. And Putin seriously wants Russia to be one of the "world leading countries". Probably even China is laughing their asses off right now .
Ian Bell
Kiev was meant to be a feint so they could surround the Ukrainian army in the Donbas so what do you think?

This is weird, but I think it's over for Russia. I think they're too incompetent and corrupt, to be able to win this "SMO", but also their troops simply don't give a fuck about it. They want no part in it. Putin needs to sudoku on live telly. It's the only way.

What were concentrated formations at the start of this offensive are now likely spread out across the front, intermingled with each other, fuel if not ammunition running low, the soldiers have been moving, fighting, advancing almost nonstop for 5 days. It's like a boxer who has thrown a big punch, he needs a moment to recenter himself. It's also likely that le plan (for real this time as opposed to the copium /chug/ calls a plan) culminated with the destruction of the Izyum grouping.

But Ukraine is the de jure owner of those settlements, once ruskies withdrawn the civilians themselves switch towards Ukraine soveregnity, even if the UAF havent reach it yet.
Samuel Evans
No time. Ruskis are caught with their pants down. Need to psuh in to get Luhansk back. They have 0 defenses, since they didn't care to reinforce the area, they believed it to be firmly in their grasp after they took it and their front is tens or hundreds of km deeper, in Donetsk. Stopping now would be a mistake, they'd give Russian's time to regroup, bomb and push them. They need to keep moving, otherwise they're like sitting ducks. If they can enter Luhansk, Russia's going to have extreme problems dealing with them due to civilians and allied forces. Their recapturing counter-counter offensive isn't going to go down well with the locals. Too many casualties, collateral...
