Those shots work by upping the concentration of covid-19 antibodies in the blood at all times so that when the virus enters your body, it can be fought off.
But that's a fucked up way to boost your immunity, since usually, your body uses memory cells to produce antibodies only when they're needed (antibody production is energy costly, hence why producing them all the time is stressful for the body and for the immune system).
