Did anyone notice the major plot point/action sequence was a literal rip-off of star wars? They had to raid an impenetrable fortress by going through canyons (analog of raid on death star through ventelation) and fire a bomp into a small hole (analog of Luke firing into small target hole on death star) and protaganist did it without computer aid. (if I remember correctly in Top Gun too)
Movie sucked and was a dissapointment. It only seemed good in comparison to how bad movies have gotten nowadays.

I got star wars vibes too, but it didn't feel contrived. Canyon runs are something fighter pilots are all trained on for radar evasion. I'd argue that star wars drew the idea from real life.
