Two years ago I went to southern germany, and eastern france on my way to switzerland
I had to stop to Saarbruck and I also went to places in eastern France... I saw a lot of Germans and French people.
I was surprised how better looking were the French compared to Germans. The germans (from the Saarbruck area anyway) looked very bland, a lot of fat people and pear shaped bodies... the french were good looking.
Also the French are not "swarthy black haired", that sounds like something an american would say
