If there was a genuine push for Irish reunification--the north being reabsorbed, total independence from the UK established, what would it look like? Would the nu-IRA have to play a part, or could it be established with generalized grassroots movements? Same generalized questions for Scotland while I'm at it, I want to see both of them properly independent again.

Most northern Irish I have met consider themselves Northern Irish first before British or Irish (if Catholic).
At the end of the day, it's their decision and Eire if they want them, but looking at the South, they may not want them and the accompanying challenges the North would bring.

I'm not so sure about that and I know what youre saying about how Britain being a vassal and a floating base of the USA and all that BUT. Britain is also one of the USA's most important allies in the region, more so than Ireland.
Britain is more geopolitically important to the USA.
