Don't know if true but I heard early on in the Ukraine was this year that they relied on our satellites for tracking and it was shut off for them.

I do think they have had a milatary culture for a long time that hid flaws in equipment because it would reflect bad on performance. Also a portion of Russian tech is advanced but not easily replicatable making it extremely slow and expensive to produce.

Also potential moral issues.

Ukraine has had the advantage of near unlimited western and soviet hardware and cash. I assume both Ukraine and Russia are both taking heavy hardware losses.

I feel most every one is pro Russia or Pro Ukraine and I'm mixed. There are things I like about both countries, but also think both are really corrupt. I do think the U.S. made Russia feel boxed in with color revolutions and South Ukraine is culturally Russian with probably a third being pro Russia and a larger % Russian speaking. But I also feel Russia brought this mess on itself, they chose to invade in 2014 rather than win Ukraine back. Then chose to invade more this year. Also they clearly bully countries in their orbit, except maybe Serbia.
