I think women know that rape is the ultimate attention whore story, the ultimate victim narrative
it used to be that women would be raped all the time
that this was the norm
they didn't care
they just got on with their day and dealt with it
but now if you so much as accidently brush up against their arm
you raped them
and they're all over social media posting your pictures and crying saying they're terrified to go out now and the system doesn't do enough to protect women against rape
its all about attention and social currency via self victimisation
and what little impact rape has on women is amplified today because fundamentally it devalues women's sexual value and agency, they didn't care so much prior to sexual liberation because they had none anyway and would always be taken care of one way or another
but now if they're raped, they're damaged goods, they've given something and received nothing, they've been reminded of just how little power they really have, and it shocks them to the core. its the ultimate reality check
we like to moralise it because we like to pretend we're more than animals
but again, in regards to biology and procreation we are not

abortion is technically more immoral than rape
yet women celebrate it
bercause its not about morality
its about power dynamics
men are not allowed power, which is why rape is a hot topic issue and why so many non rape things have been lumped into the same category
