How do I approach my local firearms store/range and communicate all the right things in order to rent and use the range? I feel like if I tell them how inexperienced I am they'll be weary and not want me there :( Also do you know how much a range session and rental usually costs? if you're not retarded, and don't live in a retarded state (mine requires you to already have a license to rent guns unless in a specific live-fire class), you just typically ask about renting, show your ID, and sign the equivalent of a 4473 to say you're not a criminal or mentally ill. Try multiple different pistols, see which one you like best. For carry guns, Sig P365, compact or sub-compact Glock models, M&P shield series, and if you're on a budget, the modern Taurus carry guns aren't totally shit. also this, take a class if you're really uncertain, and it's just generally a good thing to get into and get properly acquainted with firearms in a safe environment
