I swear, the trades meme is fucking retarded "don't go to college bro just lay some bricks bro you're gonna earn 23 million per brick you lay bro"
Fucking retard.Clueless idiot. People in trades are some of the dumbest people ive ever interacted with. They give off a weird vibe, like they are as smart as the machines they operate. Thats what they are, machines. And not the complex type.
Most of their work is repetition.Do the same retarded movement over and over again for 12 hours a day. Idk about you but Id kill myself on the first week if someone forced me to do this. For me its mental torture. It would take an idiot to do this job and not die out of intellectual underestimulation. I feel im losing braincells just looking at them working.
I know first hand since my dad has a construction company and employs these kinds of people. They are the bottom of the barrel. They almost feel less that human to me.
If you are one of the people I'm talking about, Im sorry, I get it, your job is useful and I'm not trying to tell you that it's bullshit, but I just can't stand you as a human being. I can't survive a 15 minute conversation with you because you tend to say the most basic and dumbest things imaginable. Im pretty sure you know how to do your job but that's about it, you are on your own, repetition rich world.
And trades won't give you a lot of money, don't fall for the bullshit the easier your job is the easier it will be to replace you. You are a burger flipper but you just flip bricks. And to people who think Im a brat, I worked at my dads busines for 1 month or 2 and all I could think of was "you guys have been doing that for years?"
These kinds of jobs don't require thinking and that's why the attract people that can't think. Your body is getting destroyed and you're gonna have joint problems at age what 40.
But no, don't go to school, fucking retard. The stereotypes are true.
is this a bot? either way it’s probably correct, leaving trades was best decision of my career my old coworkers are all dope fiends making $75k but indiscernible from unemployed white trash
Joshua Ramirez
Wow, an intellectual we have here.
Noah Reyes
Yeah they’re complete retards. I remember meeting some of these types of people last summer when they were remodeling my parents lake house. They were all fucking stupid and couldn’t look me in the eye when I would see them doing something wrong and point it out to them. I’ll never respect people in the trades. No wonder they cope by lying about making 6 figures.
Benjamin Nelson
If you don't already have skills passed down to you from your dad/grandpa/step dad don't bother with trade school.
-t. trade school graduate who currently works in a job unrelated to what I went to school for.
The truth is, some people flourish more in trades, some people are better off in college. There's no silver bullet; just find whatever you can tolerate.
Jacob Williams
yeah, but the ratio of ‘flourishing’ is better with college and if you don’t ‘flourish’ (eg own a trades business or go to med school) you will be better off with degree than trades
Sebastian Lee
The goal in life is to win, to become the top alpha male. When you join the trades, you are agreeing to work under somebody else, forever. You are not the one designing the building - he works for himself. You are not the one paying for that building - those shareholders don't work either. What they do is find other people who will work for them for their whole lives for tiny piece of the pie. Don't be that union loving, democrat supporting idiot.
>inb4 I can become a contractor you are too stupid and lazy to become a successful businessman, that is why you are joining a trade and need a union.
Mason Brown
In other words, if your daddy can't get you in with his pipefitters union, don't bother because unions are full of nepotistic traddies and you'll go nowhere
Daniel James
Yes, unions are extremely nepotistic.
Lucas King
I work in trades but I also hold a degree and was a teacher at a public school. Public education was an absolute nightmare and I’d rather do what I am now, welding in painful confined spaces (basically an oven), than teach. My time at the university was okay, but it was mostly bullshit. Almost all assignments were meaningless bullshit, save for a few, that you had to wade through to receive a degree. I have a 4 day work week now and never have to take my work home with me. Get fucked. The guys who do what I do out in the field make about $4k a week after taxes. I’ve been welding and fabricating for a little over a year and I make substantially more than I did as a teacher. It’s hard physical labor but I’d bet you wouldn’t be able to read a blue print and build something, and no two things are ever alike in custom fabrication. Fuck you.
Christopher Ramirez
teacher to tradie only confirms op saying it is for retards
Levi Fisher
Well the person who wrote this is probably a pussy, even if it has some truth in it.
Most people in the trades are just plain retarded. Even in the higher paying ones like electrical or plumbing. You'll frequently meet people who know immense amounts of information about their job, and be extremely good at it, yet as soon as they step outside of work they are a retarded npc. Like the kind of dudes who finance a $60k truck at 10% interest just to carry a single tool bag, and who drink a 12 pack, and who constantly fight with their spouse over inane shit. People with 0 self awareness or common sense and the only thing they are good at is their job. It's pretty jarring to be around.
Nathan Evans
Just like the teacher's union.
Lucas Murphy
The trades meme is that very shortly most jobs are gonna be extinct BUT essential trades. Dipshit
Jeremiah Turner
another issue is that tradies are basically irrelevant getting a degree is a way to heighten up your social status, and possibly get into politics, even on a local level this board shouldn't be surprised that politics are turning into a massive gynfest, when they themselves could barely graduate highschool
Michael Diaz
what's a job that doesn't crush your soul and gives you time to work on projects in your free time? it doesn't need to pay super well as long as I can keep the lights on.
Logan Gomez
Eh. I don't think to highly of some of my co-workers' intelligence or general cognitive abilities, but I actually like my trade job. (Auto mechanic / detailer) I find it much less repetitve and boring than the white collar career path I considered for a while, which would have had me working mostly with spreadsheets and databases all day. To me, it doesn't seem to be any more abusive to your body than sitting in place and staring at computer screens all day. I get to bring dead machines back to life, have to learn new stuff all the time, and get make them look good enough that their owners can be proud to own them.
Jonathan Walker
I agree, it's horrible being stronger than just about everyone. It's horrible to be able to say fuck you I quit with no fear. The absolute worst thing is my wife doesn't like to go beyond 3 orgasms and wants to stop so if my timing is off I stop because I love her that much. When I retire next year I get 53000 per year mailbox money for the rest of my life. Once again you're right op it sucks. T union ironworker
Levi Smith
>what's a job that doesn't crush your soul and gives you time to work on projects in your free time? it doesn't need to pay super well as long as I can keep the lights on. A job gained via connections.
Sebastian Cruz
user... in a construction company, there are two groups of people. The mouthbreathers and everyone else. The mouthbreathers by viture of being mouthbreathers, are forced to do repetitive work. Everyone else has various jobs and they think and are normal people. For example, me and my senpai are the 'others' we run machines, discuss plans and get shit done. The mouth breathers come and go, are the most annoying people, or just crazy. The labor market is very fucked nowadays, and i understand why you feel this way, try speaking to the guys in your dads company who have been there for a year+
Ryder Jackson
user, housers are the worst constructions. Be careful with roofers. It also could have been something like >be working on a nice lakehouse >read the plans and get to work >mouthbreathing son comes out, tells us we are doing something wrong >dafaq.jpg >have to communicate to this basement creature that we have to do something else first >with a little muttering he walks away Many such cases
Dylan Hall
>53k a year Congratulations on working your whole life in backbreaking labor to retire with nearly twice as much as a retiring mcdonalds manager, you sure are winning
Elijah Howard
53K a year in pension is more than the average salary of a working person in the US. Your sour grapes don't mean shit, that dude's making bank.
Nathan Hughes
been working as an electrician for about 3 years now. Ofcourse the work gets a bit repetitive, but isnt that every job? I get very different types of jobs, from installing a cctv-system to replacing a main power switch(Dutch, dont know the english terms) of a huge factory. The pay is alright, i'm able to afford to go on holiday twice a year to a foreign country, so cant really complain. The work is hard on the body, but atleast I get plenty of excercise, not like the office obesidites. If youre motivated, willing to learn and enjoy the trades. You can ofcourse make a future for yourself.
p.s. the owner's sons are always the most retarded people ive had the pleasure to work with. Think theyre as good as their daddy, while their daddy is talking shit about them to his employees behind his back
Julian Garcia
getting into the trades was one of my best decisions i ever made as a young man. just because the majority of workers are retards doesnt mean thats what you have to be. youre able to become more than a grunt if you have half a personality and work ethic.
