It was probably just tossing them a bone since they’re demoralized as fuck and the LPR troops have been refusing orders of late. Something can maybe happen if in different operations thousands of russians get killed or captured at once. But I think the first response would be a further escalation, be it a massive air campaign or even tactical nukes. In the mind of the Russian army they have a duty to defend the reputation of the WW2 red army, and I don't see them retreating from a defeat unless they get a favorable off-ramp.
