I think most of us started with an old fansub, which was ok but the subs were shaky in places.

Recently there was an official sub by an anime streaming service, I have the torrent but there are some things about it that I don't like, the video extracted from the streaming service is weirdly embedded in a black box so I need to use a player with a zoom feature to make it look right on my screen, and in the later seasons Reinhard is translated as referring to himself in the plural, which is probably just a display of arrogance in the Japanese, but it looks schizo in English. Other than that it is pretty good, the video quality is much better than the fansub.

I also have a torrent for the officially subbed versions of the three movies. I recommend the the first movie "My conquest is the sea of stars", it's basically the real first episode and is the best of the movies. The second movie "Golden Wings" is a homosexual fanfic made by a totally different production team which I cannot recommend under any circumstances, not only is it literally gay, it is also retarded. The third movie "Overture to a new war" was made after the main show ended, it is a retelling of the first two episodes of the main show using a higher budget, it's alright through it has an implied homosexual scene where Reinhard plays with Siegfried's hair, so I can't recommend it for that reason, unless you have watched the original show to death and really want more LOGH content.

Wang's genius is too naive to be aggreeable. He's basically the absent minded professor. Brilliant at war, complete moron on politics. He truly didn't understand that the human spirit was inherently corrupt and the concept of civil liberty is only righteous in the face of an evil tyrant. Reinhard, but Yang was the most respectable of his foes, even if he was wrong.

Remains to be seen Yang Wen-li whole obsession on not becoming dictator was establishing historical precedent for future generations regarding democratic function, even at the cost of the existence of the current nation. Who knows how long Reinhard’s empire lasts let alone holds on the FPA’s territory in the long term, and people decades or centuries later very well could look back on Yang as inspiration.

Legend of Galactic Heroes is not a children's cartoon, you moron. Yes, it's animated. That's about all you can say. Most children under 16 wouldn't even be able to follow it -- it's like a movie, only animated. That's why some people really get into Japanese Anime. It's not just meant for kids over there. And it's an alternative to USA's Hollywood.
