There's no way you can convince me the authors of the bible weren't extremely mentally ill. > Claims God speaks to them > Sometimes God 'tells them' to commit unspeakable atrocities > Fear of God leads them to develop paranoid delusions, extreme hallucinations, etc > Everyone believes them because it's 2000 fucking years ago > Their manic schizophrenic ramblings become a guiding force throughout the rest of human history > No wonder we're absolutely fucked
Seriously. Imagine that today, someone ran up to you and started saying God is speaking to them, that they're the chosen one, that God tells them to kill their son. They'd be put in a 72 hour psych hold. Fuckin hell
>Why did God command killing sometimes Because those groups of people were going to cause more damage to society. Study up.
Nolan Sullivan
That's a good take for a shallow observer but if you look deeper at the Bible you'll realize mere schizos couldn't have penned it. For one thing, there's health and safety tips that predate germ theory and knowledge of allergies (shellfish, washing hands, handling of sick/dead). Then there's the fact that even an atheist has to admit the Bible was one of the most important books of human history known for it's prose as well as it's content. Bronze age schizo shepherds aren't known for being great at prose.
Kevin Foster
Schizos see the world as it is with no filter. They see God and most of them crumble to dust in the face of its glory.
the bible has never been an important part of literary institution
Noah Ortiz
maybe it is, maybe it isn't. That's kind of the fundamental point of faith. You oversimplified a lot of aspects of scripture btw, but w/e. Keep making "schitzo christian" threads on Any Forums and reveling in your own sense mental stability... lol.
Nathaniel Hill
That's just blatantly not true. Name a more influential book.
Matthew Rodriguez
homer
Adam Hill
yes, but many of them just got stoned to have "revelations", which the dumb primitive bastards thought were actual visions from god
Jews are trying to rewrite history and remove the influence of Christianity. They claim that U.S. Christianity only became popular after a hollywood movie came out in the 20's or something... Real greaseball shit.
Caleb Howard
I can point to a half dozen movies with Bible quotes in them. How many Homer quotes? Clearly one footprint is bigger than the other.

>There's no way you can convince me the authors of the bible weren't extremely mentally ill. If you are mentally sane, GET THE FUCK OUT OFF MY BOARD!
William Barnes
rewriting history is how christianity survives thousands
Gabriel Richardson
It's ok memeflag, the burden is sharing the good news with you, what you do with it is on you. Eternal paradise is not for everyone.
Hudson Young
Yeah remember in Bulp Fiction where Tommy Trovolver says "“There is a time for many words, and there is also a time for sleep.”" real stirring stuff.
Austin Gutierrez

Christianity built the west

lol I really dont care to engage in your stupid shit. You are going to die one day and everything you consider to be important will be gone. You will leave this world as bewildered as you entered it.
