I think they're using lockdowns to prevent inflation (from velocity of money) whilst they're printing money to like crazy to prop up asset prices trying to prevent a crash.

To avoid war. They deliberately closed Wuhan when the virus was released, but allowed international flights out of Wuhan to continue for weeks. Deliberately spread the virus worldwide causing many millions of deaths rather than be the only country to suffer economically from a virus (again).
