Most repeat offenders don't even have an ounce of fear when going to prison. Yeah, some horrible shit happens in there, but once they join a gang it pretty much turns into summer camp just with slightly more gay rape. Instead of letting them socialize with their friends in prison, why don't we just torture them?
Torture can take many forms and we can allow the inmate to choose which torture method he'd prefer. For example, say they're guilty of assaulting an asian woman and stealing her car. He now has to choose between spending 50 days in isolation in a completely dark room or having 2 fingers slowly sawed off. What do you think he chooses and how do you think he'll behave in the future? Only a crazy person would re-offend after either of those two experiences. What are some crime/punishment scenarios that you've thought about?

Just beat or flog them every time they do a crime in prison, or if they have an insolent attitude. Actually I do think a crimson should be given the choice between a quick violent punishment such as lashing vs a standard confinement.
