Building material is another issue but assuming you could have your nanite swarm swim in some goo of building blocks (monomersm likely also some sort of "fuel") and "weaving" from this by simple catalytic reactions (likely very close to how an enzyme works) could be feasible. Perhaps even with two types of nanites, one weaving a mesh into which the second type integrates by "self sacrifice" ... think blood clotting when you cut yourself here. For the biological applications I see relatively dumb nanites (still with homing potential based on more or less biological motif binding) as within reach.
Am i the only one thinking, that Putin will win the pissing contest with us? If some of the russian patriots on here are to believed, the sanctions the west imposed on russia have done nothing. No food shortages, no economic collapse and the burgers taking McDonalds place taste better than the originals. I can see the eu and especially germany going down the shitter worse than after WWII, while russia will be welcomed back into the world stage once the war is over.

Sneks intercoiled. :}~< Swam off after a short while and hid between the rocks by the riverside. Sadly couldn't make out enough to figure out the species but was flicking its tongue at me before disappearing in some narrow crack.
