>in those states in which the condition of the women is bad, half the city may be regarded as having no laws. And this is what has actually happened at Sparta; the legislator wanted to make the whole state hardy and temperate, and he has carried out his intention in the case of the men, but he has neglected the women, who live in every sort of intemperance and luxury.
>This was exemplified among the Spartans in the days of their greatness; many things were managed by their women. But what difference does it make whether women rule, or the rulers are ruled by women? The result is the same. Even in regard to courage, which is of no use in daily life, and is needed only in war, the influence of the Lacedaemonian women has been most mischievous. The evil showed itself in the Theban invasion, when, unlike the women other cities, they were utterly useless and caused more confusion than the enemy. This license of the Lacedaemonian women existed from the earliest times, and was only what might be expected.
>But, when Lycurgus, as tradition says, wanted to bring the women under his laws, they resisted, and he gave up the attempt.
>And nearly two-fifths of the whole country are held by women; this is owing to the number of heiresses and to the large dowries which are customary. It would surely have been better to have given no dowries at all, or, if any, but small or moderate ones. As the law now stands, a man may bestow his heiress on any one whom he pleases, and, if he die intestate, the privilege of giving her away descends to his heir. Hence, although the country is able to maintain 1500 cavalry and 30,000 hoplites, the whole number of Spartan citizens fell below 1000. The result proves the faulty nature of their laws respecting property; for the city sank under a single defeat; the want of men was their ruin.

>Spartan fags BTFO No wonder feminists and liberals like Sparta. Literal gynocratic degeneracy plagued with debauchery and decadence.
Aristotle was born in athens not sparta. he never visited the place. andits quite a bit south. also athens hated sparta and has wars against them (mostly lost too LOL)
I wouldn't take what scollors thought of sparta as they dispised the men there and their culture of manlyness they also hated their woman where tough as well.
its like trying to compere downtown broklyn with san fransisco LOL
Alexander Harris
>Aristotle >Liking Athens
Did you even read Aristotle's Ethics? He fucking loathed Athens so much, he migrated away with his son. He's reason is that Athens is too much filled with faggotry.
Caleb Gonzalez
no he didn't he moved to rome italy
that's like saying you hate it in san fran because of the faggortry and then to telaviv just to get a worse version kekekekeke.
nah the guy was raping his son. athens has the worse people. many of these western elites are from athens too LOL.
Brody Fisher
Sounds like a typical gossiping semite sandnigger who complains that whites dont beat the shit out of women twice per day and so he exagerates the whole thing.
>Aristotle >Not teaching Alexander his ethics >He did not know that he furthered Alexander's aspirations
Do you actually think, somehow, Sparta isn't a degenerate state?
Someone said that if Rome were the Conservatives, then Greeks were the Leftists faggots.
Xavier Adams
Alexander literally told that infiltrator to go fuck himself with his jew bullshit and declared himself son of the olympians. All socratic philosophers are semitic infiltrators trying to subvert ancient pagan meds.
>thinking we can get reliable information regarding the state of affairs of city states from 3000 fucking years ago based on the translated writings of people who were from rival states. Listen man I like Aristotel too, smart bloke, but come the fuck on
Matthew Collins
>Aristotle >Loyalty to Athens Fags in this thread really needs to read Aristotle's Ethics and see for themselves how he fucking hated Athens and its faggotry
David Jenkins
In clown world these glorified pilpuler semites are shilled for a reason.
You don't have to like the place you live in to dislike its enemies. A lot of Russians hated the USSR, doesn't mean they liked Germany. He lived in a rival state, even if he had problems with it, he would still, at least subconsciously, be biased towards its enemies.
Adam Jones
I mean, he's right tho? Every religion in the history of the planet holds that there is ONE source of everything, one true power that created reality. The Greek Gods are just the ones that govern reality, not its creators. So God, in the highest sense of the world, is one.
Connor Walker
I miss when the elite ruling class dressed to impress. Now they all look like they shop at The Men’s Warehouse.
Isaac Barnes
>Sandnigger semite shills for sandnigger semite and tries to inject semitic solipsism in the conversation. pottery

No its like the boiled frog effect that semites use when subverting. You dont go and declare immediatly that there is only one sandnigger god to a bunch of pagan whites, they will slaughter you. Instead you start pilpuling about saying "oy vey there are many gods but there is one above them all the rest are manmade fellow goys" and you move from there.
Jace Fisher
>who created the gods you retard you don't think romans or greeks in all their wisdom asked that simple question. read a book
Isaiah Gonzalez
The ancient greeks believed in a primoridal God called "Khaos" who is the creator of the Universe, who created 3 other Gods that are the Sky, Earth and Underworld, iirc. The actual "Gods" such as Zeus and Poseidon were created way later, and their purpose is to govern existence, to rule over it. But there is still one singular source for it.
Nolan Sanchez
>Who created the gods fellow goys* ftfy
Thomas Perez
We should attempt to bring back the ancient Egyptian religion as a joke.
Nathan Lee
The idea of there being one God that is above all the others is an idea far older than Aristotel, Plato and Socrates. The Greeks always had that belief of Khaos. Also I'm not christian.
Aaron Cox
Where do you get the idea that chaos is above all other except from your sandnigger brain?
Oliver Mitchell
Also no, afaik they didn't believe the Gods were "man-made". That idea probably existed to some extent, but I don't think a majority of the populace subscribed to it
Connor Williams
>Ancient Egyptian Religion A literal fucking meme. Even Pharaohs didn't believe that shit. But still, it's useful for power though.
Gavin Cruz
Nobody subscribed to it. Thats why these sandniggers were killed, exiled, ridiculed etc.
Colton Miller
Because it is? The Greek creation myth holds that Khaos, who was more akin to a primordial void than our modern understanding of chaos, created Gaia and the other primordial spirits of the sky and underworld. Gaia then created her husband, Uranus, whom she married, and the titans. Gaia and Uranus had Cronos, who murdered his father, who then ate his own children, until Zeus came along and murdered him too. Zeus and the current Gods are 3 generations removed from Khaos, they absolutely are below it in the cosmic scale.
Oliver Cook
There absolutely were some people who didn't believe in the Gods man. Cynics have always existed. Again, hard to say how many, but at least some did.
