It devalues their work. The work of the less talented artists anyway. That has always been the case. New technology of any type usually devalues the work of less talented people in that field. Artists have been pretty immune from this sort of thing throughout history so they were not prepared for it. Random clip art guy is out of a job when his art quality is underneath what an AI will be able to do for a lower price.
