Unlike the Nazis, the Russian military are human. So they will show mercy & accept surrender. And that also comes with a bonus. Many of the captured have information of use.
Bear in mind that not every Ukrainian soldier is a Nazi. Many were conscripted, with the alternative being 15+ years in jail. Hence why so many of them surrendered at the first opportunity knowing that they would get 3 meals a day & stay alive. A large number of Ukrainian POWs refuse to be swapped. Some of them have even applied for Russian citizenship.
The Russian military do not slaughter people for revenge or for the mere buzz. Hence why they are the humans in this conflict.
I just read another post where a Russian officer covered civilians with his body during shelling. The officer died, the civilians survived. Think about that before you call for "kill them all".
