Because, as it said by arestovich, main idea of the ukranian nation is to lie to everyone, including themselves. It's a nation completely build by modern political technologists. They modus operandi does not include honesty or reasoning. They were manufactured to operate by pure emotional impulses (the rest of the world is leading this way too, sadly), and logic and facts does not apply to them. If you ever talked with an actual "ukranian patriot", it's like talking with a literal shill Any Forums shill. The reality is that ukraine is completely controling the informational field on it's territory. Basically twitter the country: if you said something that slightly contradicts the narrative you will be declared a zradnik, russian agent and in the best case canceled which means you'll be harassed by zogbots, fired and will probably be forced to leave the country. This happens after you slightly question state narrative. And if you interfere with khazarian wealth redistribution chutzpah, you'll just die or be sentenced.
The Ukrainian regime sent in their infantry first by themselves and let them get slaughtered by artillery, after they had retreated they sent in their armor with infantry support while much of it had aluminum armoring so weak it would be pierced by small arms and indirect shrapnel.
