You have to be a true retard to think you still have true freedom with a gas car more than an EV.
Your gas gets delivered by corporations and can be shutoff by the government at a moments notice. Once the gas gets shutoff, it's done, car no work anymore, it's over. You're not refining gas. Gas also goes bad within months. Gas is completely dependent on factors which the global elite can control, see $5 gas.
Meanwhile you can always buy solar panels from china, batteries and charge your tesla or other EV through the sun which can never be taken away.
With all this being said,
If you don't own land you can't be self sufficient with gas or electric so it doesn't matter if you own a gas or EV, You're still a wagie in an apartment
If you do own land to be able to do all this and setup solar panels on the roof of your house, EV's are still poor quality and overpriced so it doesn't matter anyways.
In other words in terms of car transportation, get fucked. Even EV motorcycles are overpriced, and should be only worth 10k at most, but are regularly priced at 15-25k.
So there's no winning no matter what you do.
