I believe they did loops around the earth but they never left outside Earth's magnetic field which would have killed them from radiation poisoning. Same reason why Soviets and Chinese keep their astronauts within ISS limits. Spaceships need their own magnetic fields to protect against gamma rays in space. They weren't doing this in the 60s ;)

I was in Florida when a rocket took off, it was in 2005 or some shit. Not sure what they were doing but I saw the thing go all the way up in the sky while I was chilling by a pool on a resort. The resort was call mystic dunes and it's right by Disney and MGM studios. It was sooo cool, I love America and Florida. Land of opportunity, land of abundance and a land full of great people with loads of hospitality. I could never say anything bad about my friends from down south or deny their nations amazing achievements.
