In a nutshell, diversity is about empowering people by respecting and appreciating what makes them different, in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, education, and national origin.

Understanding one another: Diversity allows for the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. It means understanding one another by surpassing simple tolerance to ensure people truly value their differences. This allows us both to embrace and also to celebrate the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual and place positive value on diversity in the community and in the workforce.

Recognizing our differences: Each individual in an organization brings with them a diverse set of perspectives, work and life experiences, as well as religious and cultural differences.

Inclusion is an organizational effort and practices in which different groups or individuals having different backgrounds are culturally and socially accepted and welcomed.

These differences could be self-evident, such as national origin, age, race and ethnicity, religion/belief, gender, marital status and socioeconomic status or they could be more inherent, such as educational background, training, sector experience, organizational tenure, even personality, such as introverts and extroverts.

Inclusive cultures make people feel respected and valued for who they are as an individual or group. People feel a level of supportive energy and commitment from others so that they can do their best at work. Inclusion often means a shift in an organization’s mind-set and culture that has visible effects, such as participation in meetings, how offices are physically organized or access to particular facilities or information.

The process of inclusion engages each individual and makes people feel valued as being essential to the success of the organisation. Evidence shows that when people feel valued, they function at full capacity and feel part of the organisation’s mission. Reduce Discriminations and Racism: When you experience or see more of something, it will become normal. Putting biology aside, and have an example. More Colorful life experience: Our world view changes the way we experience our lives, as we describe above. When you interact, socialize, and work with people from different experiences, you can hear and learn from people. Not many people are fortunate enough to be able to travel the world, or work as an ex-pat in many different counties. Alternatively, we can learn from people coming from different backgrounds.

Building a more balanced world: Extremists usually have extreme views because they do not have the opportunity to understand the other sides’ arguments. Having diversity and inclusion will improve the balance of opinions, views in any setting. A well-balanced world will accept different opinions and reduce fears towards differences. A well-balanced world can also improve the average cultural competency in the society.

Inviting more investments: As discussed in the benefits of diversity in the workplace, diversity can add different segments to a community. For example, gender diversity will bring in investment and innovation from different gender; cultural diversity will bring in ideas and traditional wisdom from other cultures; age diversity will bring in experience and problem-solving methods from people with different historical experiences. All these ideas will bring attract different investment because people in a diverse environment understand the needs better.

Diversity assumes that everyone is different, but capable of the same results. It is wrong through the existence of race genetics and the limitations it imposes on the individual. For example, a black infant's brain stops developing much sooner than a white infant's. This premature halt of development prevents the formation of more complex thought and results in a culture of carnal personality rather than one of merit. That's why blacks are mostly found in rundown and poverty-stricken areas. they can't and won't put forth the effort to keep their neighborhoods kempt.
