Food scarcity thread. Are you fooded up?

One thing that people don't really know about the lack of Russian and Ukrainian grain products being on the market this year, is that the impact won't be seen on the shelves until LAST YEAR'S grain is depleted. Yes, the bread factories, the animal feed, all of it's running on grain delivered last fall and winter. But what will the factories run on, what will the animals eat, when the silos are only 1/2 as full as they should be, or less?

Better get some grub ready now. Ration time is coming.

Doesn't America produce enough food to feed its own people?
Australia produces enough food to feed about 100 million people per year which is why we sell about 75% of the food we produce kek.
Buy our grain Seppos.

This on top of higher production costs due to fertilizer shortages and diesel prices

I raid and take your food, water and women, simple as.

Because the government HEAVILY subsidizes corn and onions crop, that's all the large-scale farms grow. The entire US economy is dependent on corn, so there is not reason for farmers to grow anything else.

why was onions changed to onions?

been talking about food scarcity for 40 years
it will never happen in USA

It's like global 15. Both G15 and the word filter were implemented for good reasons, but they're probably not necessary anymore.

Please don't take this person serious. They don't know what they're talking about.

you have to go back

I will be laughing while I eat corn bread

I have a gun and you're in some cuck country. You'd have to fly here.

Joe Biden himself told us to expect it. Are you saying Biden would lie to the public?

Too lazy to go take a picture of my chickens

The US is the largest exporter of food, so yeah

Nigger I live in America.

For America food scarcity will be like, we can't get fancy IMPORTED cheese and wines and cured hams and stuff. Nice Lugirian olives, Calabrian peppers, but we'll have local analogs of basically everything. But prices will go drastically up on non-subsidized produce items which are mainly imported or grown in the desert. Good olive oil will 100% disappear, the US made stuff is trash.

Just cook with peanut oil and grow your own luxury foods, I planted an orchard, got chickens, and got sheep. Gonna just make my own shit if I can’t buy it.

Does anyone know where they can actually purchase wheat seeds to grow my own crop next spring? I think I made a total noewb move and bought winter wheat last year for my garden and it just turned into gras to fertilize my garden. But anyway any idea who to find wheat seeds?

Why the fuck would you want to grow your own wheat?
Grow potatoes, they are the easiest thing to grow, just plant a few potatoes from the supermarket and you will grow a few kilos of your own.

find an mill that sells all that stuff, there's probably one around somewhere near you. the one by us sells all kinds of organic and heirloom variety grains and stuff and you can have them ground for you or just get the grain.

yeah, for a food shortage situation potatoes are great. often the market bought ones won't want to grow because many are treated with something to inhibit the shoots forming. worth the few extra dollars to by good planting potatoes from a decent seed supplier desu - they are more vigorous generally.

Right, and for the people who can't do that they'll pay or go without the luxury stuff just fine.

The problem is Europe, they got half their grain from the Ukraine and Russia. Same with other regions. Africa's pretty much fucked, Middle East too. Lots of food plants have shut down or burned elsewhere. WWIII fully started. But we in America will do OK. It's just the rest of the world that will burn. I'm staying put and not fighting anybody, this situation doesn't even need to happen.

No they fucking aren't wtf?
You are just using too big of a potato and you aren't cutting it.
Cut it in 4 and then bury it one they start to sprout not after.

I put another crop of taters in already. Around here I can crop all year. They're about 4" tall or so now. Doing great.

Maybe we can get qt euro wives.
I want polygamy to come back and be socially acceptable since I can actually support a large family and have plenty of space.
