I liked the first 4 ASOIAF books and so I enjoyed the early seasons of game of thrones. I kept watching that show through the end even though it fell apart into complete trash. I figured I would check out this new series just to hatewatch it maybe, so I grabbed a copy on Piratebay+ and couldn't even make it through the episode. The first episode was just an almost random remake of scenes from the old show with different actors and different names.

My theory is that these studios have been replacing writers with basically ai chatbots to keep these long running franchises going. They feed in old scripts and books from the original writers and get these incoherent collections of scenes that represent what an ai thinks the show or movie is about. A group of diversity hire writers then cleans up the output and they get to filming.

After everyone got burned the fuck down on season 8, you would think they would have more pride then to come back to the trough, but no.
