Conservative pundit and Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro blamed former President Donald Trump for Republicans losing momentum ahead of the midterms.
The Republicans are losing steam in the 2022 election. There are some reasons for this, the Democratic upswing in the wake of Dobbs being the most obvious factor. But there’s something else going on here that represents a deeper problem for the Republican Party.

He's right. Ben Shapiro has wrote more articles than Tucker Carlson about why the FBI is corrupt, needs to go, and wrong to raid Trump, etc. But the fact of the matter is talking about the FBI doesn't make a single person want to vote. It makes them want to see the FBI get destroyed, and maybe even something crazy happen, but not vote. The FBI isn't an elected official. There isn't a connection between it and votes in a direct way even though there is indirectly with the idea Republicans would reform the FBI. But that's much less effective than just being like "Biden is letting browns in en mass, vote him the fuck out"

Not every opinion that goes against Trump is wrong and not every opinion made by someone who's Jewish is wrong either. Ben's family was literally kicked out of every prestigious Jew religious community they're part of for not being liberal. He's spent his entire adult life trying to rebuild his connection to the Jewish community by going to Israel and stuff and they still hate his guts.
The problem is while Ben is Jewish his family wasn't rich enough to be part of the big plans and so he literally isn't aware of it and doesn't understand why other Jews hate him.

Along with all the primaries over the last 6-8 weeks there have been 4 special elections and one ballot measure in Kansas over abortion and Republicans have done poorly in all of them. This doesn't mean they'll do bad come November but it's not a good sign. There are also other signs like general ballot polling where Republicans were doing really well but now they aren't. I put less stock in polling, especially this far out, but the change in party preference over time is interesting.
