That's true. Been drinking green puerh (fermented tea) for many years, like 6 or so. Compared to coffee it has very noticeable difference, effect is several hours longer and with less extreme spike on onset, as well as much longer and cleaner comedown. While you can drink 2-3 cups of coffee per day, on puerh you can load up at morning and it will last for 8-10 hours, also quality and strength of stimulation is much better than coffee provides.

For sure I wasn't drinking exclusively green and was getting coffee from time to time as well, but difference is there. Ask your tea-man if you know any, they would confirm.

Theanine is supplement made from green tea extract so here you have it. Haven't tried that combo myself, but since prices on tea are absurd high right now, might give it a try sometime soon
